| Desperation Strikes
Theres a man-conquering blonde bombshell who prances around the neighborhood dressed like an exotic dancer; a nosy, blackmailing neighbor who always seems to know a little too much about other peoples business; and the hunky neighbor guy who just moved in, whose mysterious ways keep viewers wondering if hes a sinner or a saint. The matriarchal quartets different styles of desperation always take center stage, even as the murder-mystery story line unfolds. And, of course, any group of women in the medias spotlight are sure to stir up plenty of gossip and scandalous fodder for the columnists and bloggers, some true, some invented. If anything, the whiff of scandal and actress-on-actress rivalries (including a cast fight over which Housewives actress would be front-and-center for a Vanity Fair cover earlier this year) has only enhanced its popularity.

Company chairman Ratan Tata, introducing the Nano during India's main auto show, drove onto a stage in a white version of the tiny four-door subcompact, his head nearly touching the roof. With a snub nose and a sloping roof, the world's cheapest car can fit five people — if they squeeze.
Hasbro Previews G.I. Joe , Hulk , Iron Man , Indy & Clone Wars
Their Marvel line will include Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor from "World War Hulk," as a tie-in to the two Marvel movies. You can check some of those out here. Hasbro's 2008 line of Indiana Jones toys will roll-out in four waves that include characters and vehicles from all four movies, starting with Raiders of the Lost Ark and the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on May 1, then figures from "The Last Crusade" will follow in July and "Temple of Doom" in September, although Hasbro has promised that these will be ongoing toys and not just done simply to tie into the movie. There was more secrecy revolving around the upcoming "Crystal Skull" than any other movie presented by Hasbro with a bunch of the toys not shown at all, since some of them might give away key plot points of what happens in the movie.
Police grab tagger with an eye for utility poles
A prolific 31-year-old tagger was arrested Thursday, Jan. 31, and hit with nearly three dozen criminal mischief charges in connection with graffiti nailed to utility poles across the city. Ryan Wendell Birkland was arrested by officers from Portland Police Bureau's Central Precinct Neighborhood Response Team. The graffiti began showing up on Portland General Electric poles several months ago. A similar style of graffiti resulted in $12,000 worth of damages to the Sherwood Field Water Tank in Washington Park. During the investigation, Officer Matt Miller, the bureau's graffiti investigator, received several tips about the graffiti that lead officers to Gallery 19, 1339 N.W. 19th Ave. Similar graffiti could be seen through the gallery's windows on display inside the building.
